Dolly Parton shares why she didn’t let Elvis record hit song
Dolly Parton made a dazzling appearance on Thursday in Arlington, Texas as she performed the halftime show during the Washington Commanders versus Dallas Cowboys game at the AT&T Stadium.
She made her alliances clear for the game, wearing a bedazzled version of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders uniform including tiny white shorts, and a revealing blue shirt that barely stayed in place during her energetic performance.
The Hollywood star fearlessly flaunted her jaw-dropping figure at the halftime show, highlighting her endless legs and toned midriff in the sparkling outfit, complete with the iconic blue star-studded belt and matching tiny white vest with just a hint of fringe at the bottom.
While the cheerleaders themselves are restricted to natural makeup and minimal jewellery, Dolly made full use of this freedom, sporting large chunky silver hooped earrings and bright blue eyeshadow with her iconic pink lipstick.
Her statement curly blonde hair was left loose for the performance in a half-updo, keeping her golden locks out of her face as she pranced around the glittering stage.
Dolly’s skimpy attire and sensational show left fans blindsided as they discovered the singer is now 77 years old.
Viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their astonishment, as they struggled to “process how Dolly Parton is 77 years old”.
One gushed: “If a Genie gave me one wish I’d ask to be as hot as Dolly Parton at 77 or any age really,” while others questioned “what Jolene must’ve looked like” to steal Dolly’s beloved in her 1973 hit song.
Some compared the country star to Donald Trump and Joe Biden, who are 77 and 81 years old, requesting that with the upcoming election: “If we have to elect an old person, let it be Dolly Parton.”

Endless comments poured in praising the “gorgeous” singer and dubbing her a “queen” and “national treasure”.
However, not everyone was supportive of the look as some argued that women her age should not be “on stage pretending they’re 20” and questioned why she isn’t “at home spending time with loved ones and family”.
The notoriously philanthropic celebrity joined the halftime show as part of The Salvation Army’s 133rd annual Red Kettle Campaign, later saying in a press statement that it was “an honour” to work with the organisation.
