Gogglebox stars discuss Nigel Farage on I’m A Celeb

Nigel Farage’s appearance generated a mixed response from Gogglebox stars who sat down to watch I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this week.

The former politician underwent a Bushtucker taste challenge and some of the Gogglebox stars gave their thoughts on the controversial figure.

Siblings Sophie and Pete remarked: “I think Nigel should look as though he’s suffering a little bit.

“Give the public what they want.”

Sophie then said: “Don’t make it look easy.” Pete added: “We want to see Nigel Farage squirm.”

Meanwhile, Giles and his wife Mary both couldn’t believe that Nigel had been paid £1.5 million to appear on the show.

On X, formally known as Twitter, one person commented: “I think you would do anything for 1.5 mil wouldn’t you? #gogglebox #ImaCeleb.” (sic)

A second fan chimed in: “The cracks are starting to show in camp #Gogglebox.”

On top of this, one person said about Sophie and Pete: “I’d like to see these 2 in the jungle! They’d be a lot more entertaining than some of those in the jungle at the moment.”

At the launch of I’m A Celebrity, more than 1000 people sent written complaints after it was reported ITV paid Farage £1.5m to feature in the show.

Best for Britain launched a new campaign urging the public to pledge to boycott the show, which launched earlier this week.

Farage is a British broadcaster on GB News and a former politician who used to be the leader of the UKIP Party.

He is competing in the Australian jungle alongside other famous faces such as This Morning’s Josie Gibson, JLS star Marvin Humes and singer Jamie-Lynn Spears.

I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! airs at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX daily.
