Laura Hamilton shares montage of property renovation
A Place In The Sun’s Laura Hamilton revealed in an emotional Twitter (X) post last night that she’s “proud of how far” she’s come since reinventing her life as a single woman.
The 41-year-old TV presenter shared a video clip featuring snippets of her massive home renovation, quipping: “Always look back on how far you have come and be proud of what you have achieved. When you do what you love it’s far easier to make a success of it!”
The video showed the foundations being built up, brick by brick, with chaotic, crowded rooms packed full of building debris, plus a crane in the garden.
Yet towards the end, viewers saw true progress as the proud mum-of-two marvelled over newly renovated chic bedrooms and even a statement glitzy chandelier.
Laura elaborated further on Instagram, exclaiming: “Sometimes you have to look back to see how far you have come!

“I’ve been spending some time looking through the photos on my phone of the build project I took on 18 months ago,” she explained to her 187,000 followers.
“I don’t think I appreciated at the time just what I was taking on, on my own with two small children. However, this wasn’t my first renovation project and it definitely won’t be my last…”
She added that the prospect of developing property had been one of her greatest passions since the age of 19.
“Don’t ask me why or how. I didn’t come from a family who were property developers. In my late teens I just discovered a love of turning a run-down and unloved building into a beautiful home,” she mused.

“I love everything about the process; from the design, the build itself and the interior styling. I enjoy being as hands-on as possible and involved at every stage!”
She added: “It’s been a crazy 18 months of managing this project from start to (almost) finish, in between making lots of memories with [my kids] Rocco and Tahlia and working.
“BUT all I would say is when you have a vision and you set your mind on something, anything is possible!”
Laura also recently shared the proud glow she felt when she purchased a Land Rover Defender 90 earlier this month, admitting she was still “pinching herself”.
Adding the hashtag “notgifted”, she explained: “I came from a family that always taught me you have to work hard to create the life you want, and that is something I have always done always will, despite whatever challenges I face.”
As the shiny car was unwrapped from its covers while she watched in glee, she emotionally continued: “I have worked unbelievably hard over the last few years to rebuild my life to make my children, friends and family proud.”
She added that this was the first time in her life she’d ever owned a new car, and admitted that being a “single working parent” was a “juggle”.
However, Laura has gone from strength to strength on her self-improvement journey and has big ambitions: she’s even learning to fly, so she can whisk herself to A Place In The Sun filming locations independently in the future instead of hopping on a passenger plane.
In early 2022, Laura announced her split from husband Alex Goward after 10 years of marriage. They share two children, nine-year-old Rocco and six-year-old Tahlia
