Paramount+<\/i> has announced a new documentary profiling the late June Carter Cash<\/b>.<\/p>\n
The documentary, titled June<\/i>, will debut on Paramount+<\/i> on January 16, 2024. <\/p>\n
Directed by Kristen Vaurio<\/b>, the film will shine a light on the life and work of the multiple Grammy Award-winning singer, comedian, musician, actor, and author.<\/p>\n
The documentary will feature never-before-seen archival footage alongside interviews with Carter Cash, her family members, Dolly Parton<\/b>, Reese Witherspoon<\/b>, and Willie Nelson<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the documentary on Carter Cash, Vaurio said, “She’s a woman whom many people are aware of, but few know much about her remarkable life and her deep contributions to country music.”<\/p>\n
Carter Cash’s daughter Carlene Carter<\/b> said, “This film offers a great opportunity to realize that June was a star of television and music from an early age \u2014 decades before she became ‘Mrs. Johnny Cash.'”<\/p>\n
The film will also focus on the Carter and Cash family’s impact on the history of country music.<\/p>\n
The documentary made its world premiere at DOC NYC Festival on November 12. <\/p>\n
