Strictlys Zara McDermott says she and Sam arent jealous people as she talks curse

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 launched last night, Saturday 16 September, with a packed evening of show-stopping routines.

Viewers also had the first opportunity to meet this year's celeb contestants – including Love Island star turned documentary-maker Zara McDermott who revealed she's been paired with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima.

And in a new interview with The Sun's Fabulous Magazine, Zara has opened up about the Strictly experience and the supposed 'curse'. She said she and her boyfriend, former Made In Chelsea star Sam Thompson, aren't worried.

"We've never had to have that conversation because we both work in very intense environments," Zara told the publication.

She later continued: "We would never hold each other back from doing anything. Neither of us are jealous people."

26 year old Zara's debut appearance on the BBC show saw her paired with long-serving professional dancer Graziano – who is married to Giada Lini.

When asked about how she's feeling Zara explained: “I think I’m probably the most nervous I’ve been in my life. I’m not a natural-born performer or extrovert, so this is the biggest challenge of my life!”

This comes after Zara previously told OK! that starring on the BBC dance show is a "dream come true."

"I watch it every single year and have done since I was around seven," she said. "I’m a massive fan of the dances and the pros, so when I met them I was like ‘oh my god I’m a big fan’."

And by her side throughout the trials and tribulations of the competition she has her supportive boyfriend Sam – who she's been dating since 2019.

He recently opened up to The Mirror about next steps in their relationship and explained he'd like "three or four" kids in the future.

He said: "I would like a boy and a girl, to be honest. I probably want three or four. But Zara's in charge, she'll probably tell me!"

The 31 year old also took to social media to publicly congratulate her on her latest achievement.

Next to a snap of himself and Zara at the NTAS shared to Instagram, Sam captioned it: "Me and my tiny dancer. I am so god damn proud of her at the moment. The journeys only just begun goose."
