Strictly Come Dancing star Stacey Dooley, 33, and Kevin Clifton, 37, began dating following their victory on the BBC dance show in 2018. In a chat with her BBC Radio 5 co-host Scott Mills, 46, last weekend, she jokingly suggested the pair should make a pact together if their relationships don’t work out.

We’re quite settled aren’t we, but I mean if it all goes wrong

Stacey made the humorous comment after her co-host Scott asked listeners to send in examples about things they believe don’t happen in real life, which may have been seen in films.

Giving an example, he said: “You know when people have a back up plan to get married to whoever.”

Stacey added: “Oh yeah, like in the films when they say, ‘If we don’t find the person we’re going to spend the rest of our lives with, we’ll marry each other’.”

“Yeh, so anyone got any of these?”, Scott added, urging listeners to get involved with the conversation.

The BBC documentary star then suggested she should make a pact with Scott as a back-up plan.

She asked: “Shall we do one you and I?,” which prompted Scott to hesitantly reply: “We’re both with someone, no?”

Stacey added: “We’re quite settled aren’t we, but I mean if it all goes wrong.”

Laughing, Scott replied: “Shall we do it now?”

Stacey began dating Kevin following her split from personal trainer Sam Tucknott which came after the duo’s Strictly win two years ago.

Scott is in a relationship with UK brand manager Sam Vaughan.

The presenter and Kevin tend to keep their relationship out of the limelight and rarely post pictures together on social media.

However, Kevin recently spoke out about how the pair got on while living together in lockdown.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, he said: “She [Stacey] was swapping stories with some friends who asked, ‘How are you finding lockdown with your partner?’”

“And she said, ‘Me and Kev don’t argue – we get on well as mates as well as a couple.”

Kevin added: “The only thing I can complain about is that sometimes he wants to have a big conversation about the nature of consciousness.

“And, most of the time, I don’t want to have a big conversation about the nature of consciousness’.”

The dancer also recently said he is “jealous” of his girlfriend being able to work during the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking on his self-titled podcast The Kevin Clifton show, he said: “This last month, I’ve started to get an itching to get back to work, and my girlfriend is working again, so I’m getting jealous of that. I’m starting to get really fed up now.”

He continued: “It’s been an excuse to sit and play my PlayStation and just watch Netflix but now I wish I could be performing.

“I think this is the least fit I’ve ever been right now.”

Kevin announced he had left Strictly back in March after seven years to focus on other work commitments.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing measures, Kevin’s performing schedule, including his Burn The Floor tour with his sister Joanne, has been postponed until next year.
