Congratulations are in order for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost!
People reported on Wednesday afternoon that the Black Widow star and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update co-host recently welcomed their first child together. Neither party had officially confirmed Johansson's pregnancy until now.
Rumors of Johansson's pregnancy began to surface when she was absent from the premiere of her standalone Marvel film, Black Widow, and appeared at various video interviews, such as The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon and the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, from the shoulders up.
"She hasn't been doing many interviews or events to promote 'Black Widow,' which is surprising since it is a huge Marvel/Disney release and she is both the star and an executive producer," a source for Page Six shared at the time.
Previously, Johansson shared that she was pregnant during the filming of Avengers: Age of Ultron and writer-director Joss Whedon explained that he made sure that he prioritized shooting Black Widow's scenes so that the team could hide the pregnancy.
"We're not avoiding any of the danger because the stuntwomen do the danger — as has always been the case," Whedon told Entertainment Weekly in 2014. "She's very central to the movie and when we heard [about the pregnancy] we scheduled things around that. She's not going to spend the whole movie carrying groceries. We didn't trim any scenes."
"I did as much as I could do and filled in all the blanks later on," Johansson told E! News. "I have a really amazing, amazing stunt team around me."
She and her ex-husband, Romain Dauriac, share a daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac. This is Jost's first child.
