Prince Edward honored his 'absolutely brilliant' father
Prince Philip’s son Prince Edward paid tribute to the late royal following news of his death during an interview with ITV. “I’ll remember my father in a number of ways. For what he has done in his public life for all the organization he has supported and influenced and obviously as my father and husband to my mother and all the work that he has done there and as a family we will remember that more than anything else,” he said (via The Telegraph).
Edward also reflected on his father’s relationship with Queen Elizabeth II, adding, “My parents have been such a fantastic support to each other during all those years and all those events and all those tours and events overseas. To have someone that you confide in and smile about things that you perhaps could not in public. To be able to share that is immensely important.” The Earl of Wessex called Philip “absolutely brilliant” and described him as having a “wonderful sense of humor” and “twinkle in his eye” even though “the public image that certain parts of the media would portray was always an unfair depiction.”
Per The Standard, Edward is the youngest of the Duke of Edinburgh’s children and will inherit his title after the death of the queen.
