Amanda Owen took to social media to offer her support following the tragic news. The 46-year-old, who is best known as the Yorkshire shepherdess in Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm, offered her condolences as Debbie North paid tribute to her husband Andy North.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, Debbie shared that her other half had sadly died of cancer.
She penned: “With a heavy heart I announce that my beloved husband, @SidekickAndy lost his short fight with cancer and passed away yesterday 29th June.”
In view of her 170,000 followers, Amanda penned a heartfelt message.
She wrote: “We will all miss @SidekickAndy Debs. Big love from us all.”
The passionate hill-walker and presenter was inundated with messages as social media users offered their condolences.
In 2008, Debbie was diagnosed with a chronic degenerative spine condition which has confined her to a wheelchair.
The motivational speaker and presenter has since continued to explore the outdoors and would often trek mountains and the Yorkshire Dales alongside Andy.
She also teamed up with TV presenter Julia Bradbury’s website The Outdoor Guide where Debbie highlights wheel-friendly walks in a bid to make the countryside more accessible to the public.
The shepherdess has worked alongside Debbie for The Outdoor Guide including at Countryfile Live.
Debbie also films her wheel-friendly adventures around particular hotspots in the UK.
Meanwhile, Amanda often shares details of farming life on her Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm.
After coming across a book about rural life, she fell in love with the idea and resolved to be a shepherdess.

He said: “I do remember this six-foot-something woman knocked on the door. I was very taken with her. You couldn’t not be.”
Amanda explained: “It was a slow burn thing we kind of got to know each other. Made friends first then went out a little bit together.”

Their children feature in Our Yorkshire Farm where the family pitch in together to look after 1,000 sheep, 40 cows, six dogs and four ponies.
Amanda recently hit back at claims of “breeding her own workforce”.
“Being part of a big family, being on the farm and having various tasks and responsibilities, I think those are really good life lessons,” she told The Sun.
