Oti Mabuse, 30, is taking on a new role this Saturday night as she joins the judging panel of the ITV show The Masked Dancer. The Strictly Come Dancing professional has opened up about the show, admitting she’s sure her co-stars are behind the costumes.
Oti will be returning to screens this weekend for the brand-new ITV show The Masked Dancer.
The series follows the same format as The Masked Singer as stars don costumes to perform on the show.
The judges will then have to work out who might be behind the mask from their dance moves.
Oti has joined the panel for the new show and will be guessing along with Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan and Jonathan Ross.
However, ahead of the series airing, Oti has explained she’s convinced there are some Strictly stars in the line-up.
Speaking about her guessing style, she admitted: “Coming from Strictly, I’m naming every single Strictly contestant ever…all the time.”
As well as this, she also explained how she tends to have a lot of names written down when trying to work out who is behind the mask.
She continued: “I’ve got many names written down.
“I am that one who overwrites names but then I am also still guessing, watching every move, having a good time when I am writing and still noticing – oh they jumped!
“Oh, but the names!
“If I think it’s a Soccer player I will name every single player in the whole world and the producers are like ‘Oti, could you please stick to one or two’ but I can’t!”
Having been on Strictly for several years, Oti will have an insight into the dancing styles of previous contestants and professional dancers.
As a result, it’s possible she might spot one of the stars hiding behind the mask in the new show.
Speaking about her inclusion in the new series, fellow judge Mo Gilligan also praised her insight.
He said: “Oti is so good on this show.
“She’s taken to it like a duck to water.
“She knows steps, she knows routines, styles so there’s A LOT to take from her that I can add to my own stuff.”
Mo added: “That’s what Oti brings – she brings all this amazing experience and she gives to everybody.
“She’s wicked. Me and Oti have a good laugh and she’s fit in really well.”
