Lorde has been forced to postpone a couple of dates on her “Solar Power” tour due to laryngitis.
The concerts, originally scheduled to take place at Uncasville, Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday and Washington, D.C.’s The Anthem on Saturday, were rescheduled for August.
Before taking the stage at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday night, Lorde issued a statement saying, “Connecticut — these past couple days I’ve been pushing through some horrendous laryngitis, and I regret to inform you that my voice hasn’t sufficiently recovered to be able to play the show for you tonight.”
“I’m so, so sorry. I don’t take postponing a show lightly,” she added.
Both the shows will be part of the second North American leg of the “Solar Power” tour that begins in August.
The New Zealand singer-songwriter said she tried everything, but unfortunately, it’s physically impossible for her to sing much of the set. She offered apologies to her fans for the inconvenience caused by her absence.
Lorde is just two weeks into the yearlong tour.
