Hard Out Here hitmaker Lily Allen, 36, has taken to her Instagram to respond to comments made about her weight loss.
Lily posted a video of herself on The Lateish Show and a user commented: “Worried about you Lily. I feel like we’ve grown up together and I’ve never seen you this thin. Your fans care about you, your health, and we love you very much. Please take care dear.” Followed by three red heart emojis.
The singer replied to the user saying: “You’ve never seen me two years completely sober, not smoking and exercising every day.”
In a later post where Lily took to Instagram to say thanks for a dinner from Omega watchmakers to mark the start of the Olympics, some negative messages related to her weight loss caused the singer to respond again.
In response to a user comment, Lily hit back with: “Seriously, where do you get off? You know NOTHING about me or my lifestyle. How dare you.”
Other users took to their Instagram to defend her and pull up others for commenting on the star’s weight.
One said: “Commenting on someone’s weight isn’t it. Even if you are just “concerned”. Even if she did have an ED, (eating disorder) she does not need to hear commentary on their bodies from strangers on the internet.”
The user continued: “Regardless of if it is from a place of concern. Do you really think your comment will help? No, she has people that are there to support her in REAL LIFE. So STOP obsessing over someone else’s body and weight. It’s weird behaviour and it must end. Period.”
Lily looked happy and relaxed as she was seen arriving on set of BBC’s The One Show earlier this week nailing summer chic as she slipped into a pair of tiny black denim shorts and a sleeveless white vest top to keep cool.
Life has been super busy of late for the singer as she has been hard at work rehearsing for her West End debut in the new supernatural thriller play, 2:22 – A Ghost Story.
She will take on the role of Jenny in the chilling stage production, which will launch next month at the Noël Coward Theatre.
As well as the professional endeavours, Lily has also been smitten on the personal front with her American actor husband, David Harbour.
Lily married the 46 year old Stranger Things star in Las Vegas in September 2020.
Their union meant that David became stepfather to her daughters, Ethel Mary, nine, and Marnie Rose, eight, who Lily shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper.
