Pop sensation Leigh-Anne Pinnock has revealed that she and fellow Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards had a 'special' baby chat throughout their pregnancies, which brought them closer together.
Both Leigh-Anne and Perrie delighted fans when they announced they were expecting at the same time. Leigh-Anne welcomed twins in August 2021 with footballer Andre Gray, the same month that her former bandmate Perrie welcomed her son, Axel, with footballer beau Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
During her Capital FM interview on Friday, 16 June, the newly-wedded singer opened up about her baby bond with Perrie and said: "We had basically baby chat throughout the whole pregnancy, throughout the whole thing, so to have that support, my manager was pregnant, my sister was pregnant as well, we were all in it together. It was really special."
The 31 year old, who recently launched her solo career, also discussed the challenges of motherhood, revealing that she often experiences 'mum guilt.'
Issuing advice to new mums, she said: "Don't be too hard on yourself, every journey is different. There's not a manual for this, everyone's unique situation. Just be kind to yourself and know you're doing fricking amazing.
"Don't have mom's guilt as well, and that's so hard, it's easier said than done. I get it all the time, I feel… I don't know, it's hard to balance yourself and put everything into something that's going on. Just be kind to yourself."
Appearing on Roman Kemp's Breakfast Show to promote her first solo single, Don't Say Love, Leigh-Anne admitted that going it alone is going to be 'petrifying,' and said it was important that she got former bandmate Jade Thirlwall's approval.
The X Factor alum – who recently married footballer Andre Grey – revealed how she showed Jade her new song on her hen-do by the pool.
“I was so scared to play it to her,” she said and added: “I just want their approval. I don’t know, they’re still part of me, do you know what I mean? Obviously, I saw Perrie’s comments and stuff as well, they’re just there and supporting.”
Last year, Little Mix announced they would be taking a break from the band. During the interview, Leigh-Anne opened up about her biggest fear of no longer having her bandmates by her side.
She said, "I did Mo Gilligan's show, and even just walking down the corridor to go onto it, I think just everything, everything I've done in a group, doing it on my own will naturally be scary, just not having that backup. Live performances are going to be petrifying."
You can listen to Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp weekdays from 6am to 10am across the UK and on Global Player.
