Kate Garraway has been spotted looking deep in thought as she arrived at the Smooth Radio studios.

The 53 year old was recently branded an “inspiration” for “putting on a brave face” as her husband Derek Draper is still in hospital.

Kate, who was recently comforted by Catilyn Jenner, wore a stylish red and white floral blouse with a pussy bow tie around the neck.

Good Morning Britain star Kate tucked the top into a pair of dark, high-waisted jeans as she made her way into work.

Kate kept the chilly September air at bay as she wore a cream double breasted blazer with three buttons on either side of the front of the jacket.

Mum of two Kate, who shares Darcey and Billy with her husband Derek, had a large beige slouch bag over her shoulder and carried two more bags in either hand.

She wore a pair of black framed glasses on her face and had her honey blonde locks in a straight hairstyle with her fringe tucked away from her face.

Kate appeared deep in thought in the photo, days after her GMB colleague Susanna Reid opened up about her dealing with her husband Derek being in hospital.

Susanna, 49, told The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine: “It has been a nightmare that has knocked all of us for six, but Kate is living through it every day.”

Susanna continued: “To watch her put on a brave face and carry on has been an utter inspiration for all of us who work on the show, and I also know she's an inspiration to everyone who watches it.

“I don't want to speak on her behalf, but we are a very tight team and this has been the foremost of our thoughts.

“But it was exactly because of all the fear and anxiety that it became so important for us to cover stories of hope and inspiration.

“Like Captain Tom walking around his garden and lovely Sister Anthea Allen at my local hospital, St George's in Tooting, who had all these local people making food and cakes for the nurses.”

Kate’s husband Derek is still in hospital after being admitted in March with coronavirus.

Derek, 53, was put in a coma and has since beaten the virus but remains in hospital.

Kate recently told YOU magazine that her husband has lost eight stone since his hospitalisation.

She said: “He’s lost nearly eight stone in weight, a lot of it muscle throughout his body. He looked worn-out, thin and pale with dark circles under his eyes and there were lots of tubes.”
