Eamonn Holmes has joked he wants “quite a lot of women” to attend his funeral, adding that he and his wife Ruth Langsford will be buried in different resting places.
While appearing on the Let’s Start Talking podcast, hosted by Loose Women presenter and friend Coleen Nolan, Eamonn explained that while he will be buried in Belfast, Ruth would rather be laid to rest in Surrey.
Eamonn was talking about his funeral wishes as part of Coleen’s collaboration with Co-op Funeralcare, to make people more comfortable talking about death and funeral planning.
The popular TV presenter added it “wouldn’t matter” to Ruth that she wasn’t laid to rest alongside him.
“We have a family plot in Belfast where my mum and dad are and there’s room for four more others,” he told Coleen. “Ruth would rather be somewhere anonymous in Surrey.

“She wants to be cremated and I don’t want to be cremated. She doesn’t care – she’s not religious, and she’s not interested in sentimentality.”
The GB News presenter also joked that he wants to see a flurry of women, all wearing black, attending his funeral, including Ruth’s Loose Women co-star Coleen.
“I want you there [Coleen], and I want quite a lot of women there and I want them in black. It just makes me look better,” he quipped.
“People will say, ‘Do you think there was anything between them? Why is Coleen crying so much?'”

Ruth also recently appeared on a podcast, titled How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams and Karen McKenzie, and opened up about having to compromise with Eamonn about where they should retire.
The Loose Women star even admitted she would be open to the idea of moving to Eamonn’s native Northern Ireland.
She explained: “The thing is, I’ve always known he wants to be in Northern Ireland and I think we’ll have to find a compromise.”
Eamonn and Ruth met in 1997 through a mutual friend, before tying the knot in 2010. They are parents to a son named Jack, who turned 21 this year.
Eamonn’s family have been his biggest support as he has faced a string of health woes in recent years.
The presenter is slowly on the mend after a nasty fall left him with a broken shoulder and requiring surgery last year.
The incident happened after a previous procedure for a back problem that affected the balance in one of his legs.
On doctors’ orders, Eamonn temporarily stepped away from GB News to recover at home.
He has since been back on screens but last month told viewers he hasn’t fully recovered and “can’t walk or run”.
