Shaun Ryder, 59, has admitted that not everything he and Bez, 57, talk about on Celebrity Gogglebox is shown on the show. The Happy Mondays are regulars on the TV commentary show, often making viewers laugh with their unique takes on the most popular shows on screen.

There’s all sorts cut out innit.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk Shaun said: “We probably film for about anything from about four to eight hours so, there’s all sorts cut out innit.”

“They piece together seven minutes that they think are funny.

“You know, there’s a lot of stuff that goes in there and I think ‘Oh why did they not put that in’ or ‘Oh I thought they would use that’ but you know, that’s just down to their editing protocol.”

Shaun admits that half the time on the show he is unsure what he is even talking about.

He said: “Like I say, we are filming from you know, 4 o’clock in the afternoon to 12 o’clock at night sometimes and five minutes gets used so.

“I’ve got no idea what I’ve said on there the majority of the time when we are just trying to get something funny.”

Shaun joked about how the show works behind the scenes.

He said: “You know, obviously we are not watching it live on television otherwise they would be filming us for you know, f****g 36 hours straight if we watched them live.”

Shaun is known for speaking his opinion on the show, leaving viewers in hysterics.

The singer is currently promoting his new book, How To Be a Rockstar, which was released on October 7th.

In the book, Shaun lifts a lid on what his life was like whilst being in the Happy Mondays and Black Grape.

He said: “So it is all tongue and cheek sort of stuff really.

“You know, why not to drive your Golf GTI into a swimming pool or why not to throw televisions out of hotel windows.”

Shaun suffers with ADHD and dyslexia and was not diagnosed with this until later life.

Speaking about writing the book he said: “I find it really hard to concentrate on reading through books so this is the first time I have ever read one fully properly, including my own autobiography.

“I had to do it to read it out loud for the audio book.”

Shaun recently called out Gogglebox’s Paige Deville for her reasoning for leaving the show.

He said: “He added: “There is really nothing to be supported for is there.

“You f****g turn on the telly and watch f****g five minutes of something and have a laugh.

“It’s f****g not dramatic is it?”

Since then, Paige has responded to BirminghamLive calling Shaun a “troll”.

How To Be A Rockstar by Shaun Ryder, published by Allen & Unwin on October 7, £13.99. You can buy the book here.
