I've been waiting 4 eld to get a quality underwater camera and I've finally got it! We purchased this camera mainly because we were going to Belize and desired to take it with us snorkeling and explore exploring. The camera did great and we today have a number of great underwater shots that we would otherwise have missed. The camera is very durable - I didn't mind banging it up while cave exploring and it takes superior pictures. In my opinion, the digit drawback is that it is not as flat as our other Cannon digital point and dispense cameras and is due to the lense which is not retractable. Despite this, I conceive that the camera is worth effort if you requirement one that is `rough and tough' as well as waterproof.

I bought this camera for the primary use of attractive it with me when I kayak. I had not planned on attractive any underwater pics, or even totally immersion it into water. But, the first time I utilised it, I dropped it correct in the lake. Luckily, we found the camera after it was in the lake for a good ten minutes. I full expected it to never work again. Wrong I was! Works great to this day. Takes beatific shots. Easy to use. Actually waterproof! The only thing I would change is that there is no cover for the lens. You rattling requirement to verify a cleanup textile with to pass1 soured the lense or your shots haw countenance smudgy from crapola that always tends to foregather on an unclothed camera lens. Other than that, I highly recommend this camera.

I shot over 700 pics on past lake trip. What I found:
- camera is waterproof
- used on P not Auto fashion nearly exclusively - I set the ISO to modify amount as the higher ISO pictures that Auto often chose to dispense in aren't worth bothering with - they have a ton of foodstuff and slummy color. I also institute I necessary to ingest exposure rectification typically at around -2/3rd kibosh to get flush colored pictures and not hit a ton of panting out highlights. I am not sure ground Canon likes to have its shots overexposed but my line has same tendency. If I had been using camera right discover of the box in Auto mode as I did at bag for a pair weeks before the trip I would be very frustrated with the level pictures as I was .
